BY CHERYL MOSIER, CABLE PIPE & LEAK DETECTION
It is an honor and a privilege to serve as PHCC of California’s first female President. I’ve served on the PHCC of California State Board since 2015, alongside the industry leaders in plumbing-heating-cooling contracting. I’ve also served on the PHCC National Board of Directors with the PHCC Auxiliary and served as its President in 2014.
Our company, Cable Pipe & Leak Detection, was established in 1976 by my parents, John and Ann Belus. Our company specializes in locating underground water leaks, gas leaks, utility locations, sewer inspections and more. We have been PHCC members for over 35 years and credit the growth of our family-owned company to our membership in PHCC.
The relationships and knowledge we have gained through the PHCC have helped grow our business to what it is today. PHCC members are licensed plumbers who are well respected in their industry, and we have learned so much just by establishing long-term relationships with people in our industry and learning what works for them. We also rely on PHCC of California to provide us with critical updates in legislation and new laws that affect our industry.
I believe strongly in industry-related education and appreciate PHCC of California’s workforce development as critical to the future of the trade. It is so important that we bring the information about good jobs in the trades back to junior high and high school programs. There are PHCC locations across the state where a person can obtain a four-year journeyman license through PHCC without incurring student loan debt. You can visit our website at www.caphcc.org/phcc-training/ to learn more.
I’m the mother of twin sons — Michael, a University of San Diego student, and Mark, a Cable Pipe & Leak Detection employee. I love baseball (Go Padres!), football and traveling. But, most of all, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
I’m looking forward to attending PHCC CONNECT 2022 with our PHCC national organization, and I hope to see our CAPHCC membership there as I always appreciate any opportunity to get to know our members better. I want to hear your ideas about how we can improve our association and our industry.
